The Primary Years Program is centred around inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. At its core, the Primary Years Program

- Incorporates the needs and developmental stages of students.
- Considers the knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills and dispositions students need to engage in a changing world.

- Supports students’ efforts to gain understanding of the world and function comfortably within it.
- Helps to establish personal values that support international mindedness.
- Includes both digital and nondigital tools and resources that facilitate and expand learning possibilities.
- Provides multiple, authentic and purposeful opportunities to learn technology, learn about technology and learn through technology.
- Supports students to be responsible and ethical digital citizens.
