PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE

Parent Teacher Conferences at Satya school are an integral part of the school year. A parent-teacher conference (PTC) is a short meeting between the parent and the teacher to talk about child’s academic performance and experience at school.

These meetings help the parents understand about what the child is learning at school. The facilitator/educator gives a balanced; well-rounded account including personal, social and emotional development areas and what the parent can do to support them. If the child is facing a particular challenge, parent-teacher conferences also give the parent and the teacher time to plan how they can help them best.

To build the connect and relationship between the two important stakeholders in the learning journey of the child, four such conferences are conducted throughout the academic session (2 per term).

Student Led Conference

A student-led conference is a meeting with a student and his or her family and teachers during which the student shares his or her portfolio of work and discusses progress with family members. The student facilitates the meeting from start to finish.

Preparation for a conference creates an authentic purpose for good organizational and communication skills. The structure builds students’ sense of responsibility and accountability for their own learning, and it helps to hone their understanding of what it means to meet learning targets.

Students Led Conference is conducted once towards the end of the year to celebrate the learning of the child acquired during the year.

Primary Years Program Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition is the culminating, collaborative experience in the final year of the PYP. It is exhibition is an authentic process for students to explore, document and share their understanding of an issue or opportunity of personal significance.

All exhibitions are student-initiated, designed and collaborative experiences. It is also an authentic process for students to monitor, document, synthesize, apply and present their learning.
